Realities of Universities and Government

University is the best institution for learning higher education and professional skills for students. According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan there are 124 Universities in Pakistan of which 68 are public universities and 56 are private universities. These 124 Universities are playing a vital role for raising several Graduates, Post-Graduate and Doctorate Degree for the development of this country (Pakistan).
Now, I come to the main point which is related to ground realities of Universities production. According to a HCE report every year all Universities produce Bachelor, Master, M.Phil, PhD and PGD degree holders are 4,195,030 students from   2001-09 sessions and annually almost 450,000 students. This production is greater than market consumption. When a degree holder comes to the market for getting job, then he/she realizes that job opportunities are less than job requires.
So, according to my perception this upraising ratio of students every year in the Universities of Pakistan is very dangerous for those students, who have not reference for applying to any post in public sectors or private sectors. In Pakistan, those students are very lucky who have strong reference for getting appointment letter in public sector and they adjust in suitable way, doesn’t matter either they are competent or not……..
On the other hand, those who have not reference, they just get the rounds of offices for interviews. Here, Govt. of Pakistan should take steps for maintaining the pass out students as well as jobs opportunities. Government should take interest to balance among University production and job situations.
Maybe after this is act, Pakistan will progress day by day……..

Educated Yet Still Unemployed

We require every thing unsullied in this world except “FRESH DEGREE HOLDER”. But why????
I read this sentence thousands of times and trying to comprehend why this happens in this world predominantly in Pakistan. Still I am powerless to find out the truth behind that reality. When a Master Degree holder completes his 16-year education from a recognized University, his parents want to see their child in a good position to be their support in future. When he goes out for seeking a job to multiple organizations, and interviewed for getting a job. But every organization asks “how much experience you have now?” Applicant replies, “When you will give me job, I’ll get experience”. Then the organization gives a very agonizing reply that they need 2-3 year experience for that post.
Here, who is the responsible for this act??? Government? Organization? Education System? Or Applicant???     On the other hand we studied the American education system, where Schools are extended to inter level and bachelor level emerged to University level. In this situation university authority in-touch with organizations as well as Government for fulfill the requirement of job consumptions. So, they have an organized system, in which accommodates all the students who are completed their education.
Now, come back to Pakistan because we are not Americans, we are Pakistanis and while living here we condemn Pakistani policies and backward education system. But I want to draw the attention of the Government on solving this issue. According to a recent report 70% population of Pakistan comprises of youth. So, this Government or next Government will not do something for this purpose then every second person will be committing suicide, which is worst for Pakistan’s development.
